Originally from Liverpool, John moved to the Llŷn Peninsula in 1985. He became part of the local community over the years by learning Welsh and joining the Bryan Williams family business on Pwllheli High Street, before opening J&L Jewelery across the road in 1990.

Volunteering is also an important part of his life, having volunteered for the Coastguard, Fire Service, and many local events and causes such as Festival Fun and Pwllheli Food Festival in the past, and still volunteering as a First Responder in the Community.

He has many interests, including cooking, photography, carpentry, and walking.
